TaxDome Client Portal

TaxDome is API Accounting, Tax & Advisory, Inc.’s secure online storage bank and preferred file sharing method for all client documents. It provides various channels of communication for our clients and also provides a place to check on outstanding items or project status.

What to expect (some key features):

  • We are always available via phone and email, but through TaxDome we can offer a Messaging option where you will be able to chat with us online in real time.

  • The mobile app has a built-in scanner! Upload pertinent tax documents quickly, easily and securely. Have 24/7 access to your finalized returns and other files.

  • For extra security, you can turn on 2FA (Two-factor Authentication).

  • If we need specific information from you (bank statements, W2, etc.), we will send you secure messages with an itemized to-do/check list to keep track of outstanding items.

  • We will be able to send documents to you for electronic signature.

All interactions occur over an encrypted channel using SSL to protect documents, passwords, and interactions with TaxDome from eavesdropping. Documents stored in TaxDome are only accessible if you log into the service or share the documents with another individual that must log into the service.

To use TaxDome, you must have an invitation or activation link from API to get started. Access is specific to your email address and can be requested or confirmed by emailing notifications@apiaccounting.com. If you already have access and have forgotten your password, click on the “Forgot Password?” link on the login page to reset it.

File Recommendations

  • TIP #1 – Our preferred file format is PDF. We are not able to open HEIC files or webarchive file types. Please convert any graphics (JPG, PNG, IMG, HEIC) to PDF.

  • TIP #2 – Combine similar items into one PDF. If you cannot combine your tax documents into one PDF, please name your files according to the content so that your Tax Preparer can easily identify it.

  • TIP #3 – If you are not able to obtain PDFs of your tax documents and don’t have access to a scanner or don’t want to use the TaxDome app, there are a plethora of (free) PDF scanner apps that you can download to your cell phone. These apps will let you take a picture of your document and then will crop and convert them to a PDF. Many will also allow you to take pictures of multiple pages to save into one PDF. We HIGHLY recommend and encourage this.
